Red-Spotted Toad

What do you think of when you like of large mammals in the desert? Horses? Burros? Deer? What about bighorn sheep? These are all large mammals that live in our desert, but did you know that

the horses and burros have only been here for a couple of hundred years? They are what some people call "feral", meaning they were once domesticated (like pets or livestock) and then either released or lost by their owners. We'll explore the challenges and competitions between indigenous animals (animals that naturally occur in an area) and the relatively new transplants.
