asked to imagine a desert plant, what do you picture? Most
people imagine cacti. While cacti are fantastic survivors,
some scientists believe they are not the most temperature
and drought tolerant of our botanical desert dwellers.
Desert
plants and mosses face all sorts of difficult challenges,
many of which are influenced by their inability to move or
