Family Values
I come from a family that values education highly. My parents and grandparents have instilled in me that education is the single most important investment of our lives. After attending two different colleges in California, I learned that not all colleges are the same and was about to disappoint not only my family, but myself as well.

A New Home
In search of a school that was suitable for me, I found UNLV and transferred right away. UNLV is everything that I was looking for in a college and more: the smaller class sizes allow me easier accessibility to my professors, the student body is diverse in everything from ethnicity and age to socioeconomic backgrounds, and the campus is beautiful.

The UNLV Family
UNLV's most important aspect is perhaps its ability to make students truly feel part of the college community. I was warmly welcomed by current students, staff, and faculty who seemed sincerely delighted that I chose to be a Rebel. And through the organizations on campus, I was able to make many good friends while also networking, which is always beneficial. Currently, I am an activities coordinator for the Association of Pre-Health Professionals, a member of the Minority Science Students Program, and chairman of the humanitarian committee of Alpha Epsilon Delta, which is a pre-health professional honors society.

Looking Toward the Future
Now nearing graduation, I am confident that I will be prepared for medical school and life in general. I learned in the classrooms and laboratories what medical school requires of me. I learned outside of class, through newfound friends and respected mentors the lessons that will carry me throughout life. I can think of no better place to make the greatest investment of my life other than UNLV and I am truly proud to call myself a Rebel.

The College of Sciences offers research opportunities, including laboratory experience working side-by-side with professors.
