Affordable Education
I chose to attend UNLV because of its convenience in my life. I was born and raised in Las Vegas so it made sense for me to come to UNLV. The in-state tuition and scholarships were more than pleasing to my financial status and allowed me to go into such a rigorous field of study such as biochemistry and not have to worry about holding down a full-time job with no study leniency. I work on campus with Student Life Technologies and I am a photographer for the Student Newspaper: The Rebel Yell.

A Family of Friends
My fondest memories of UNLV remain with the close-knit group of friends that I now have. They are my family. I met them through Rebel Christian Fellowship, a student organization and the insights and exposure to spiritual topics has shown me that this life is meant to be enjoyed by the products of creation. Being a scientist, sometimes people find it hard to believe that I believe in creation. It's because of the fact that I am a scientist that I believe in creation. Even Einstein said, "God doesn't play dice with the universe." Through this gained knowledge of the reason for breathing, the awesome people in my life, and the experience that has shown me truth, I have become a much better person than I could ever have imagined as a freshman in college struggling through Chemistry 115 four years ago. These are my fondest memories at UNLV that have contributed to who I call myself today.

A Melting Pot
UNLV is so diverse in its population of students, that it's like a melting pot that sits in the middle of Vegas. There is quite a large body of creative people attending UNLV that most people would probably glance over. Every student I have met here has something creative about them. Music also plays a large role in the lives of students. I have had the pleasure of photographing many concerts in recent years and it's pleasing to know that many of the people attending these functions are of college age. This means that the college is creating actual culture here in Las Vegas. This was surprising for me because I thought everyone who went to UNLV just wanted to own a hotel. What a surprise!

Future Goals
My future goals include becoming a world-class photographer, a renowned nanomaterials scientist, and eventually getting married and traveling the world with my wife. But who knows what tomorrow will bring. Today hasn't even finished yet!

The College of Sciences offers research opportunities, including laboratory experience working side-by-side with professors.
