Water Resources Management

Curriculum

Because of the interdisciplinary nature of the water resources management graduate program, students are encouraged to select courses from different departments as they develop their course work program with the consent of the advisor and their graduate committee. Courses from different colleges and departments may be incorporated into the student's program of study.

Thesis Option
  1. Course Work
     
    • One required course: WRM 706-Research Methods in Water Resources Management (three credits)
    • Six credits in hydrologic sciences courses required (GEOL or CEG courses)
    • Three additional credits in science, math or engineering courses required (see listing of BIO, CEG, CHE, GEY, MAT, MEG, PHY, or STA courses)
    • Nine credits in management, public administration, economics, law, or political science courses required (see listing of ECO, EPS, ENV, HIS, LAW, MGT, MIS, POS, or PUA courses)
    • Six credits of electives (see listing BIO, CEG, CHE, ECO, EPS, ENV, GEOL, HIS, LAW, MAT, MEG, MGT, MIS, PHY, POS, PUS, or STA courses)
       
    Note: A minimum of 15 credit hours must be in 700-level courses. A 3.0 gpa is required in all course work use in the degree program.
     
  2. Thesis: WRM 798 (six credits)
     
  3. Final examination
    There will be a final oral thesis defense examination.

Total semester credit hours - 33 credits
 


Non-Thesis Option
  1. Course Work
     
    • One required course: WRM 706-Research Methods in Water Resources Management (three credits)

  2. Professional Paper: WRM 796 (three credits)
